This surreal outing had many facets back in the lap of/epicenter of the DotCom boom.

Man or Astro-Man? were the surprise entertainment for a vendor after-party (billed anonymously in advance as 'a hip, happening band'). I essentially posed as a delivery boy to gain entrance to this invite-only affair whose sonic calamity ended up leaving many of the ignorant audience baffled. They were prefaced and intro-cued by a Bill Gates lookalike. The astro-set abounded with technical glitches and was one of the first outings of a new lineup which featured 2 new guitarrists taken from the previous year's Alpha Clones.

This is an update of the astroboy concept developed from a flyer 2 years before. John Glenn's astronaut head repetitiously appears baring the names of each of the Astro-Men (interestingly, the Glenn imagery came from the packaging of the 'Astro Boss', a mid-60s hair clipper set).
